And it is Guten Tag from Naima
Hi and a big wagging tail guten tag from Berlin Film Festival where I am having fun as the films unspool. Getting ready to start a long day in the cinemas it is important to have a good start. Lets face it a 1000 breakfast cereal commercials can’t be wrong.
But the magic ingredient which you don’t get in a cardboard box is the warm welcome of a cuddly canine. As we are well into sub zero here in Berlin a warm welcome is more than ever welcome. This morning Naima was warm and welcoming, she a 10 year old Labrador and German Shepherd cross. This graceful lady is the friendly face of the Michel Berger Hotel in Berlin.
This place rocks and this place is in the hip East of the City but for an old fashioned sense of hospitality Naima has it down pat.
And pat indeed I did this fabulous ambassador for the four legged. In the midst of post industrial concrete, a frozen river and a windchill factor right up there this comely canine is a breath of fresh air.
And just when I thought I could not warm any more to Naima I asked her friend what the name meant. “It means little ray of sunshine or relaxed in lots of different languages from Arabic to Russian.” And, for sure, Naima was certainly my Little Miss Sunshine this morning. Next I learnt that this trusty hotel hound is a cancer survivor. Somehow that makes this little ray of sunshine a whole lot brighter and special. I heart Naima.
