Two brothers win the Palm Dog
This 14th edition celebrated the talent of Body and Luke, two dogs playing the same canine character (Hagen) in the Hungarian director Kornél Mundruczó’s feature film White God.
One of the two brothers, Body, was present alongside the film crew during the Cannes screening, wearing a charming bow tie. His appearance provided the opportunity for a memorable photo on the steps of the Palais des Festivals, holding the collar trophy.
As a fun fact, the film featured an impressive casting: 250 dogs were recruited and stood out in a scene where they form a striking pack running through the streets of Budapest.
Another furry actor steals the spotlight
This year, Roxy Miéville from the film Goodbye to Language won the Jury Grand Prize. The canine actor is director Jean-Luc Godard’s own dog. In this work, the animal takes centre stage and outshines the human actors!
