PALM DOG 2018 is sponsored by digital website Wamiz for the first time this year.

Set up 9 years ago, Wamiz was created by Adrien Ducoisset and Adrien Magdelaine. two childhood friends who have always been animal lovers.

Wamiz is the number one European ‘media’ on household pets, with 8 million visitors and 17 million page views per month, covering 20 countries in six languages (French, Spanish, German, English, Portuguese and Italian).

Since its creation Wamiz has informed and advised   millions of pet owners.

With the ambition of strengthening its image as a leader in the field of animal lovers it is very natural for Wamiz to wish to associate itself with The Palm Dog.

The Palm Dog is the alternative award at the Cannes Film Festival and is given to best canine performance in film, judged and attended by international film critics since 2001.  Palm Dog is the world's foremost, pawmost and best known award for dogs on screen.

From humble beginnings the Palm Dog has grown into a recognised and lauded fixture on the international Film Award circuit. Year on year, coverage of the event reaches the world’s most important online publications and news portals such as Vanity Fair, Hollywood Reporter, the New York Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, The Times, Daily Mail and Perez Hilton Blog.

The highly coveted Palm Dog award was brandished proudly on US and UK TV chat shows by Uggie (2011 Palm Dog winner and canine star of The Artist) including BBC Breakfast and Ellen Degeneres. Since then Palm Dog has featured as a question on top rated US game show Jeopardy!

The prestigious Palm Dog Collar for the best canine performance in a film screened during the Cannes Film Festival is presented by a jury of critics: Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian; Kate Muir, The Times; Kaleem Aftab, The Independent; Charles Gant, Heat Magazine, and Anna Smith of Elle Magazine.
May the best dog win!!!
